Sam began working with Sunrise Advisors, Inc. in 2001.
He has attained the status of a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor from The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the highest distinction for comprehensive, fee-only wealth advisors. Sam is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and has obtained the Certified Business Valuation Specialist™ (CBVS™) designation from the Business Valuation Institute™. In 2020, Sam was acknowledged by Forbes® Magazine as one of their top 25 advisors in the state of Kansas.
Sam and his wife, Audrey, live in Overland Park, Kan. with their dog, Pesto (named after Audrey’s world-famous sauce). A former collegiate athlete, Sam enjoys coaching baseball and playing tennis. In 2015, Sam founded the L.E.A.D. – KC Foundation (www.leadkc.org), a not-for-profit organization designed to financially assist tomorrow’s difference makers and student-athletes in their pursuits of higher education. Sam has been recognized as one of Kansas City’s young business leaders, having been named to Ingram’s “40 Under Forty” (class of 2016) and honored as a “NextGen Leader” (class of 2016) by the Kansas City Business Journal. He is also the head of Rice University’s alumni group in Kansas City.
